Somewhere between making eye contact with server and figuring out the tip we fall in love, make plans to escape, dream of other worlds.

Portuguese Artists Colony Books was born when San Francisco’s “classiest reading series” and the artist-run alternative space Fivepoints Arthouse decided to collaborate in giving excellent writers access to the printed page. The news is full of the death of publishing, but when the stories are superb, nothing beats a book in your hand.

With Caitlin Myer and Leslie Ingham standing up for Words and Jason Bryan and Megan Enright doing right by Pictures, Portugese Artists Colony Books plans to bring you some wonderful things to read.
